When the colder weather arrives, finding children’s boots that are both warm and waterproof can feel like a challenge.

Like many children, Summer loves splashing through puddles, exploring woodland walks and heading off on family adventures whatever the weather. Unfortunately, many cosy winter boots simply aren’t designed to cope with wet conditions, often leaving little feet cold and damp.

That’s exactly why we were excited to try the Blackfox Sheepskin Style Kids Wellies.

Combining the cosy look of sheepskin-style boots with the practicality of a welly, they promised to keep little feet warm, dry and comfortable throughout winter.

First Impressions

The first thing I noticed was how well made they felt.

The boots have a soft brushed PVC outer, giving them the appearance of traditional sheepskin-style boots while offering the waterproof protection of a pair of wellington boots.

Inside, they’re fully lined with a thick faux fur lining that immediately feels warm and cosy.

Considering their affordable price, I was genuinely impressed by the quality.

Perfect for Wet Winter Adventures

One of the biggest advantages of these boots is that they’re completely waterproof.

Traditional winter boots can quickly become marked by rain, mud and puddles, but because these have a waterproof outer, they’re much easier to keep looking clean.

That made them ideal for our regular family walks.

Whether we were exploring woodland paths, walking along the coast or simply heading to the park, I didn’t have to worry about Summer ending up with wet feet.

And, like most children, she couldn’t resist jumping in every puddle she came across!

Thankfully, the boots handled it perfectly.

Warm and Comfortable

Just because a boot is waterproof doesn’t necessarily mean it’s comfortable.

Fortunately, these ticked both boxes.

The thick faux fur lining kept Summer’s feet lovely and warm during colder days, while the boots were lightweight enough for her to wear comfortably for longer walks.

She could also slip them on and off herself, which is always a bonus when encouraging children to become a little more independent.

Easy to Keep Clean

Another feature I really appreciated was how easy they were to clean.

Unlike many fabric winter boots, mud simply wiped away from the waterproof outer, making them practical for everyday family life.

That meant they continued looking smart throughout the winter, despite plenty of outdoor adventures.

Final Thoughts

They quickly became one of Summer’s favourite pairs of winter boots, keeping her feet warm and dry during muddy walks, woodland adventures and plenty of puddle jumping.

For us, they offered a great balance of practicality, comfort and value for money.
