I Tried Naked Collagen Peptides: 10 Honest Thoughts After Adding It To My Daily Routine

1. The Ingredient List Is Refreshingly Simple

One of the first things that caught my attention was how short the ingredient list is.

Naked Collagen contains just one ingredient: bovine collagen peptides sourced from pasture raised European cows. There are no artificial sweeteners, fillers, colours or flavourings.

As someone who spends far too much time reading labels, I appreciated not needing a chemistry degree to understand what I was putting into my body.

2. It Doesn't Taste Like Anything

If I hear the words "unflavoured supplement", I'm immediately suspicious.

I've tried enough supposedly tasteless products to know that many of them definitely have a taste.

This one genuinely surprised me.

I added it to matcha, tea and a smoothie, and I couldn't detect any noticeable flavour. If you're sensitive to artificial tastes or aftertastes, this is a big plus.

3. It Mixes Better Than I Expected

One of my biggest frustrations with powders is finding little floating clumps halfway through a drink.

Thankfully, Naked Collagen dissolved quickly in hot drinks and blended well into smoothies.

I found it easiest to mix into matcha, made in my Velvetiser where it virtually disappeared.

4. It Fits Easily Into My Existing Routine

I am far more likely to stick with a supplement if it doesn't create extra work.

I don't have to remember a separate drink or special preparation.

A scoop in my afternoon matcha was enough.

For anyone living with chronic illness, fatigue, or simply a busy life, convenience matters more than many wellness.

5. I Like That It's Tested For Purity

Supplements can sometimes feel like the Wild West.

One thing that stood out about Naked Nutrition is that the collagen is NSF certified, meaning the contents are independently tested for accuracy and screened for contaminants such as heavy metals and pesticides.

That doesn't automatically make a supplement "better", but it does provide an extra layer of reassurance.

6. It's High In Protein For Such A Small Serving

Each serving provides 9g of protein while remaining relatively low in calories.

I wouldn't use collagen as a replacement for a complete protein source, but it can be an easy way to add a little extra protein to your day without much effort.

7. The Science Around Collagen Is Interesting

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and plays a role in skin, connective tissue, joints, tendons and ligaments. Natural collagen production declines as we age. And, I am 48 this year.

Research suggests collagen supplementation may support skin hydration, elasticity and joint health, although results can vary from person to person.

Like most supplements, it's not a miracle cure. It's best viewed as one small part of a bigger picture.

8. Results Take Time

This is probably the most important thing to know.

Collagen isn't the sort of product where you wake up after three days with glowing skin and perfect joints.

Most studies and expert recommendations suggest consistency over several weeks or months before noticeable changes may occur.

Patience is definitely required.

9. It's Not Suitable For Everyone

Because this collagen is sourced from bovine hides, it won't be suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

That's worth keeping in mind if you have dietary restrictions or preferences.

10. Would I Keep Using It?

The honest answer is yes.

Not because I expect miracles, but because it is one of the easiest supplements I've used.

I like the clean ingredient list, I appreciate the lack of flavour, and it fits seamlessly into my morning routine.

Whether it becomes a long term staple will depend on how I feel after using it consistently for a longer period, but my first impression has been positive.

My Overall Verdict

If you're looking for a collagen supplement that keeps things simple, Naked Collagen does exactly that.

What I liked:

  • Single ingredient formula

  • No artificial additives

  • Virtually tasteless

  • Mixes easily

  • Third party tested and NSF certified

What I didn't love:

  • More expensive than some budget collagen powders

  • Not suitable for vegetarians or vegans

  • Benefits may take weeks or months to notice

Overall, I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

It's not flashy and it doesn't promise impossible results, but sometimes that's exactly what I want from a supplement.
