What’s on My Christmas List (as a Chronic Illness Person)
🎄 What’s on My Christmas List (Living with Chronic Illness)
I’ve left this a bit late this year, but recently I found myself thinking about what item might help support me next year. That thought quickly turned into something else, a Christmas wish list. Because while wish lists are fun, when you live with chronic illness, they also become strategic.
It’s not just “things I want”, it’s things that bring comfort, ease daily life, and make tough days more bearable. Here are the items I’m hoping to find under the tree this year:
1. A New Walking Stick. Stylish and Supportive
Whether I’m popping out for fresh air or navigating a busy store, a good walking stick equals independence. I’m drawn to something sturdy but modern from brands like Cool Crutches or Neo Walk. Who says mobility aids can’t be stylish?
I already have a black pair from Cool Crutches, which I love, but I’d absolutely adore a Neo Walk acrylic cane, something with colour, personality, or even a bit of dazzle.
Great for: mobility, confidence, pain reduction
2. A Modern Dosette Box from Dosey
I already use a dosette box from Dosey, and I genuinely love it, but there are other designs and products from them that I’d love to try. I’ve even asked my son for one after he asked what I’d like for Christmas.
Medication organisation can feel overwhelming, especially when brain fog or fatigue kicks in. A streamlined, well-designed dosette box makes daily routines easier and less clinical, which honestly makes a huge difference.
Great for: peace of mind, medication adherence, fewer mix-ups
3. A Kindle for Reading
I love the feel of a physical book and still regularly buy from Waterstones, but with my hands, holding a book for long periods can be painful. A lightweight, slim Kindle feels like it would be a much kinder option.
On low-energy days when I still want to escape into another world, a Kindle feels perfect: adjustable lighting, thousands of books in one place, and easy reading while resting in bed, without the strain or weight.
Great for: relaxation, distraction, and so much joy
4. Heated Throws & Cosy Socks or Slippers
I already have a heated neck pillow (which I adore), but during the colder months I dream of full-body cosiness. Tissue-deep warmth is a whole mood when joints ache, and muscles are tight.
A plush heated throw paired with ultra-soft socks or slippers? That’s instant comfort.
Great for: warmth, comfort, muscle relaxation
5. An Infrared Lamp Device for Pain Relief
Infrared heat therapy can help soothe achy muscles and joints, and on those “pain everywhere” days, targeted warmth can be a lifesaver.
I don’t own one yet, but it’s definitely on my list. Ideally, I’d love a device I can use at home while resting or watching TV, something simple, soothing, and easy to incorporate into daily life.
Great for: pain reduction, easing stiffness
Final Thoughts
Living with chronic illness means gifting matters even more. It’s not just about the item itself, but the comfort, ease, and small sense of relief it brings.
If any of these are on your list this year, or you’re buying for someone you care about, you’re giving more than a present. You’re giving comfort, independence, and peace of mind.
What’s on your Christmas list this year? I’d love to hear, especially if you’ve got any comfort-gift gems I haven’t thought of yet.
