Staycations

While some friends and family have opted to go abroad this year, we’re all about the staycation in this household. The UK is full of incredible places to visit, from beaches and castles to pubs and wildlife trusts - we are truly spoilt for choice (albeit not spoilt on nice weather, unless you prefer the wind and rain)

Researchers from SACO, The Serviced Apartment Company, carried out a poll with UK holidaymakers and revealed one in four Brits believe there is "no place like home" when it comes to holidays.  As do I! There are many places I want to visit and take the kids. I'd love to holiday in the Lake District, Brecon Beacons, Devon...  my list goes on and on.

Staycations are not only cheaper, they are less stressful (I hate airports), and luxury at no extra cost, with places like serviced apartments in Manchester giving you an alternative to hotels, perfect for larger families like mine.

Nearly half of those polled by SACO said the biggest benefit of holidaying in the UK was the fact you could travel at a time of day to suit you and a quarter love the fact you don’t need to take out expensive travel insurance.

Being able to travel by car, avoiding sweltering heat and being able to take the family dog along were also listed as benefits of the staycation – we are planning on taking our dogs on our next staycation next year.

SACO also established:
