OpenTable Review

Finding a restaurant can be a challenge, especially when you are looking to try something new, something you have not visited before or noticed before…

OpenTable is a reservation service for restaurants. The booking site is used by customers as a helpful and easy solution for busy restaurants and busy customers. OpenTable allows you to view the restaurant’s availability and to book as well as manage your table reservation. It is a must-have app to have, especially if you like dining out.

Our Experience:

It was really easy to book with OpenTable at Copper Smokehouse restaurant. We were celebrating our little girl’s birthday and wanted to book a restaurant for the evening of her birthday.

Via the OpenTable app, we searched for local restaurants in our area, chose the Copper Smokehouse, and added how many people, and the date and time, it also gave us a choice to book the front room, back room, or outside dining area (we chose the front room, but during our visit we liked the look of the outside dining area). During the booking process, you get a question asking ‘What is the occasion?’ I ticked Birthday. It then gave us clear instructions to book and confirm the table, and it was done. We received a confirmation text and email.

This was our first time visiting Copper Smokehouse, and it was excellent - they’d noted our table booking reason and put a Happy Birthday sign on our table, and it instantly made us feel welcome. The staff were friendly, although, they were a bit slow. They were helpful and the food was delicious - we had comfortable seats, and the table was big enough for the 7 of us.

We all had starters, I chose a starter from the daily specials board (fried brie wedges), and the rest all had chicken wings. For the mains, my two sons got a sharing platter - which looked and tasted amazing, the girls had burgers each (these were mini-size burgers, (sliders size and only one), this was the only disappointing part of the visit, they haven’t put much attention into the kid’s menu - the girls were upset. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and food. We didn’t order dessert, as we had a birthday cake waiting at home.

We will be back, but maybe not with the kids. And, we will use the OpenTable app again.

I much preferred booking via OpenTable, so much more easier than waiting to ring the restaurant during their opening hours, and waiting for the phone to be answered. It was completely hassle-free, and quick to book via the app. I also like the fact it has restaurants registered in your area, that you maybe wouldn’t have considered or known about beforehand, whereas OpenTable presents these to you.
